Patient involvement in research
Asthma + Lung UK are currently running a survey on our behalf (until 18th June) to find out about patient priorities in lung research. If you have any lung condition we would really appreciate your input.
Small Starter Grant supported Mina Kim on US research trip
Dr Mina Kim, Senior Research Fellow in the Quantitative Imaging Group at University College London, was awarded a BIOREME Small Starter grant in October 2022. The grant funded travel and accommodation costs of a research visit to Philadelphia in February 2023. Mina has written the following summary of her activities on this trip:

Summer Undergraduate Internship Funding Call Deadline Extended
The deadline for applications to host a BIOREME-funded undergraduate internship in summer 2023 has now been extended until 4pm Monday October 3rd.

PhD Opportunity
An exciting PhD opportunity is now open for applications at Imperial College London. The research will be supervised by Prof Salman Siddiqui and focused on computational airways simulations and multi-modal analyses in respiratory disease.
Funding calls announced
We have two new funding calls opening in March to kickstart new research projects. One for the early-career BIOREME fellowship and another for our small collaboration grants.
Quarterly Webinar Series: First Talk Announced
We will be hosting online seminars from experts around the world every 3 months to share cutting edge research.
The first talk is scheduled for March 21st and will be given by Prof Jessica Oakes from Northeastern University. Full details to follow on the website Events page.

BIOREME has launched!
We were so pleased to see over 70 attendees at our online launch event on 9 February 2022. Recordings of all the talks are now available on this page.

We will be launching the network with a 1-hour seminar hosted via zoom to lay out the motivation for BIOREME and the plans for the network.
BIOREME prepared for launch!
BIOREME is a new network for researchers, clinicians, industry, and patient groups interested in the applications of Biophysical Modelling in Respiratory Medicine. The network kicks off in Jan 2022, with several events and funding calls planned for the upcoming 4 years.
