Meet the BIOREME Early Career Researcher Committee
-
Liam Weaver: Liam.J.Weaver@warwick.ac.uk
Liam is a research fellow at the University of Warwick. His research interests include modelling non-invasive respiratory support and the integration of biophysical models with machine learning methodologies.
-
Robin Curnow: robin.curnow@manchester.ac.uk
I'm a PhD student at Manchester on the Medical Research Council (MRC) doctoral training programme. I use a mixture of experimental and modelling approaches to better standardise sample collection and analysis for breath biomarkers. Breath biomarkers rely on the measurement of trace metabolites in breath which can be measured by spectrometry approaches like gas chromatography-mass spectrometry available at Manchester. Computationally modelling gas exchange during breathing gives additional insight into the metabolic origin than the breath measurements alone.
